It showcases the the plight of debt-ridden farmers, the menace caused by the corrupt political system, and flaws in our healthcare administration.The movie is produced by Gauri Khan and Gaurav Verma under the Red Chillies Entertainment.
The film is an emotion for all the SRK fans. This is the second movie of King Khan to be released in 2023 after Pathan.

The story starts in the year 2022 and revolves around patriotism and corruption.
Azad Rathore (Shah Rukh Khan) is a police officer and jailer of the ladies’ jail.
He disguises himself and with the help of 6 inmates of his jail – Lakshmi, Eeram, Ishkra, Kalki, Helena, and Janhvi- he hijacks the Mumbai metro and asks for a ransom of 40,000 crore in return.
After being aware of the kidnapping of his daughter Alia who was among the passengers, Kalee Gaikwad- a powerful Global Arms dealer pays the money to the hijacker. Through Alia, Azad reveals himself as Vikram Rathore to Kalee, which shocks him.Azad uses this money to repay loans of 7,00,000 debt-ridden farmers of India.
Azad meets Narmada(Nayantara) who lives with her young daughter Suchi and later they get married.
Azad next targets the Health Minister, kidnaps him, and asks for better infrastructure and facilities at Government hospitals in exchange for the Health minister’s life. The infrastructure is upgraded immediately and Azad escapes with his gang.
Later Narmada finds out the truth about Azad’s identity and Kalee’s brother – Manish captures and tortures the couple. However, they get saved by Vikram Rathore- his doppelganger.
Narmada then disguises herself as a criminal in jail and confronts the gang members of Azad. There she get to know about Azad and Vikram’s relation.
30 years back, Vikram Rathore was the Captain of the Special Ops unit – “Agni Regiment” in the Indian Army. During an encounter with the terrorists while on a mission, Vikram and his team suffer casualties due to malfunctioning weapons.
So Vikram and his team filed a complaint against young Kalee who was the weapon supplier for the Indian Army at that time. This leads to Kalee’s company losing the right to supply weapons to the Indian Army. The same night Vikram and his wife Aishwarya (Deepika Padukone) were attacked by Kalee’s men leading to the separation of Vikram and Aishwarya and shooting Vikram off a plane. Aishwarya gets jailed for killing three cops who were on Kalee’s payroll who were threatening her.
Vikram gets falsely accused of being a national traitor.
While in jail, Aishwarya gives birth to their son, Azad. Aishwarya asks him to prove his father’s innocence to the world before she is hanged. Oblivious to the world, Vikram survived the attack but lost his memory. He was found and rescued by a tribal group in the North-Eastern region of India.
At present Narmada’s assistant -Irani is revealed to be one of Kalee’s men. He tries to shoot all the accomplices of Azad; Laxmi here gets killed in the cross-firing. Azad ends up killing Irani and steals Kalee’s trucks with the help of his father, team, and his father’s friends. The trucks contain money to help Kalee rise as a political figure in upcoming elections. Vikram and his team get captured by Kalee’s aides. Azad released a video in public stating that he has stolen Voting machines which will be used in the upcoming elections, he demands the Government to seal all 253 factories that are causing air and water pollution. The government hence complies with the demands of Azad.
Kalee arrives and a fight breaks out between him and Vikram, wherein Vikram recovers back his memory. He and Azad fight together and hang Kalee to death. A few months after the incident, STF officer Madhavan Naik, who helped Azad to complete his missions, assigns him to a new Operation targeting Swiss Banks.
